Board/Chair Comp Memberships Info

The LRCC Board has adopted the following policies to provide clarity to Complimentary Memberships given to Board Members and Committee Chairs. All positions are volunteer-based, the Complimentary Membership is the Club’s way of saying Thank You for the time put in to the job.

Board Members (Taken from LRCC Board Minutes October 7, 2014):
Each year of a board member’s term, each board member will receive 50% discount off of their membership.

If, at the end of each year, the budget has been managed per the bylaws (elections, meetings, and budgets all per bylaws and state laws), and there are no objections from a majority of members present during the annual meeting, then each exiting Board member will be entitled to an additional 50% off the following year membership.

Examples for the purposes of clarity:

  • Board member voted into office March 2015
  • Board member receives 50% off of 2015 membership fee
  • During annual Board meeting in March 2016, Board presents results of 2015 books and operations.  If members present at general meeting agree with a simple majority that elections were properly conducted, meetings were properly held, and budget was handled per bylaws, exiting Board is entitled to 50% off of 2016 membership fee.
  • If Board member is serving a term beginning in 2016, Board member can add 50% from service in 2015 to 50% for service in 2016 (i.e. free 2016 membership)
  • If Board member is not serving a term beginning in 2016, but wishes to remain a members for 2016, can apply 50% to 2016 membership fee.
  • Unused 50% discount cannot be deferred for more than 1 season.  i.e. must use-it-or-lose-it by 2017 registration.

Committee Chairs  (Taken from LRCC Board Minutes December 15, 2014)
Applies to the following: Swim Team Committee Chairs (3), Membership Volunteer, Bookkeeper and Facilities

Discount to be same as Board Members’ compensation approved on 10/7/14 and will be subject to similar conditions as Board Members for receiving the additional 1/2 membership discount:

For each year of service, each volunteer will receive 50% membership fee discount. If at the end of the year the board determines that the volunteer has performed their job per job description and to the benefit of LRCC, then each volunteer will be entitled to an additional 50% off of the following year membership.

Example for the purposes of clarity:

  • Volunteer appointed for 2015 Season
  • Volunteer receives 50% off of 2015 membership fee
  • Annual task will be added to calendar for Nov/Dec: Board votes on 50% carryover for volunteers listed above
  • Prior to the close of fiscal year, Board determines number of volunteer positions
  • If Volunteer is serving a term beginning in 2016, Volunteer can add 50% from service in 2015 to 50% for service in 2016 (i.e. free 2016 membership)
  • If Volunteer is not serving a term beginning in 2016, but wishes to remain a member for 2016, Volunteer can apply 50% to 2016 membership fee
  • Unused 50% discount cannot be deferred for more than 1 season, i.e. must use-it-or-lose-it by 2017 registration
