Salary & Work Schedule
Starting pay rate: $16.90/hr.
Part-time/Seasonal (April – July)
Mornings & Afternoons (flexibility desired)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Attendance at all meets, schedules swim practices, team social events, and designated LR Sharks meetings.
    *Attendance at practices and meets equates to up to 25 hours per week.
    *Absences are permitted only with the prior agreement of your team manager(s) or Head Coach.
  • Know the VAL rules and regulations applicable to swim meets, swimmer eligibility, stroke and turn and other related technical aspects of competitive swimming.
    Arrive 15 minutes prior to practice to set up the pool. Remain on the pool deck or water at all times, offering stroke instruction, assessment and correction
  • Supervise all swim team members to provide for a safe and effective environment, interceding in all issues of safety and deferring to the safest course of action.
  • Ensure the pool area is clean after practice.
  • Structure one weekly practice plan.
  • At swim meets: time swimmers, hand out relay cards, support the Head Coach with splits, support the clerk of the course when necessary.
    Promote team spirit and good sportsmanship during meet. Provide assistance cleaning up the pool area.
  • Assist the Head Coach in teaching competitive swimming skills, including in-water instruction. In absence of the Head Coach the Senior Assistant may be substituted for the Head Coach.
  • Assist the Head Coach in the proper use and maintenance of LR Cabana Club pool facilities and equipment at all practices and meets.
  • Encourage and promote team spirit and good sportsmanship at all times.
  • Accept duties as assigned by the Head Coach and Senior Assistant Coach.
  • All Assistant Coaches ages 18 and under will swim for the Sharks team, wearing the current season’s team or solid black swimsuit.
