SWIM INSTRUCTOR
Salary & Work Schedule
Starting Pay: $18.00/hr (scaleable w/experience and certification)
Part-time/Seasonal (June-August)
Hours vary/Flexibility desired
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Knowledge of all strokes, safe swimming techniques, drills, and fun activities

Enforce rules of the Los Ranchitos Cabana Club

Communicate with the Aquatics Director when issues arise

Ensures the safety of students at all times

Adapt to different learning styles and levels of students

Provide quality instruction and positive and continual feedback to students

Test and evaluate students and complete effective feedback cards

Communicate with parents and answer any questions
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Must be able to swim at least 300 yards and tread water for 2 minutes
-
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds or more.

The pool can be a noisy and dynamic environment.

Frequently exposed to natural weather conditions that may vary from extreme sun to cold, wet, rainy and windy conditions.

During your work shift, you will be expected to be in the water for long periods of time with students as you teach swim lessons
Certification Requirements

Current and valid American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Certification. See Find My Certificate to locate your Red Cross certification.

Valid work permit (if under 18 years of age)
